First

First blog post of the year! Yay! *fireworks* Haha. ☺ I’m starting the year right with what else? Dressing up.

image

image

For the first themed shoot of A-Fash, we decided to inject our New Year’s resolution to our outfits. Cool right? It really took me quite a while to think of how I can incorporate the two together and I ended up with symbolism (ang deep). (•‿•)

image

image

image

image

image

Do you now have an idea of what symbol I used? If you didn’t get it yet, it’s all on the skirt. Yeah, those are clocks which obviously symbolize time.

image

Not being dramatic and all but what I plan to do this year is to seize every second I have. I want to spend it meaningfully because no one can tell what could start, what could end and what could be given a second chance.

image

image

I’m cherishing every moment in college because in less than two months time, I’ll be done with my studies. Well, it’s great to finally graduate but it also scares me to face the new world.

image

image

I’m spending a lot of time now with my college friends and the person dearest to me because for sure we’ll part ways after graduation. That’s just sad but I know I can do this, so bring it on! Haha!

Hope you liked the outfit and its ‘madramang’ meaning. LOL! Watch out for the next post guys.  ❤

Hello December! Finally the happiest and most colorful month of the year has come and you certainly know what that means – Christmas is just around the corner! Yey!

image

Who wouldn’t love Christmas? The 3-year-old-me would be just as happy as everyone else.

image

There will be gatherings here and there, presents, and food! Of course everyone will be preparing sumptuous feasts so I’ll be ready for additional pounds. *Ghad.. I’m getting fat.* Haha! (•‿•)

image

image

Now lets talk about the outfit. There’s no better way to fight the cold breeze than wearing a pullover then match it with tights and boots. I tell you you’ll have a feeling you have a second skin. Haha! Perfect for the cuddle weather!

image

What I’m wearing: cross pullovers and booties, thrifted; tights, SM Department Store

image

I love the aztec-cross print on this pullovers. It gives the edgy vibe on the outfit. ☺

image

image

Its my first time to wear this kind of booties, did I pull it off well?

image

I know I’ve been sharing with you my thesis journey here in our blog, and I want to share with you another achievement we’ve just made – we’re finally done with our data gathering process! We’re halfway in finishing our paper and I couldn’t be any happier for that! *applause please* Haha!(•‿•)

image

A-Fash had our first shoot for the second semester and I’m really looking forward to our Wednesday routine. By the way, I met up with a respondent before these photos were taken and notice I still managed to look fresh. Maybe because of the instant freshness my outfit brings and a little help from my make-up kit. Haha! As my Tete (Ate Joyce) would always say, “Uhuh! Freshness of Downy!” 😀

image

I’ve been asked so many times about my daily make-up ritual. Well, I tell you I spend a lot of time in front of the mirror before going out – 30 minutes tops. Not that I’m into artificial beauty but looking good and prepped is a way of how you’ll present yourself to the people you meet, and that makes an impression. Remember this: Cosmetics are made to enhance beauty not to conceal them.

image

image

What I’m wearing: top, Thrifting Treasures; floral pants, Aeropostale

image

image

image

neon green bracelet, Kikay’s Kitwooden beads bracelet, Rainbow Tropics; watch, Guess

image

image

flats, Parisian

image

Maybe I could do a separate blog post for my beauty essentials, what do you think guys? Comments are loved!☺

image

We’re just the ones who showed up for the shoot – the pioneer batch: Danica, Yen, Sam and me. After the shoot we went out for a date-slash-bonding-slash-meeting. It was nice to catch up with these ladies!

Have you ever been so in love? Well, I currently am. I’m in love with everything around me – my family, my friends, my school, and of course the person behind these pictures. And I’m very thankful for having such supportive people around me.

image

I may be discreet about it but if you know me personally, you’ll know what I’m taking about.

image

Being in love enables one to see things in another perspective. You become inspired in everything you do and it radiates to the people around you. ❤

image

Enough about that, let’s talk about the outfit. (•‿•)

image

I wore this outfit during our enrollment for the second semester last October 23. It’s my last enrollment for college plus it’s a special day so I really planned to dress up.

image

sporty top, Thrifting Treasures

nautical braided bracelet; Clarissa’s Arm Candiesblue skull bracelet, CaLee Shoppe

image

I want to bring out the sporty vibe the top has so I paired it with my trusty sneaks.

image

I decided to give it a twist by choosing a skirt as a bottom, don’t worry I still feel comfortable because its material is made out of cotton.

image

What do you think? Did I pull it off just right? Comments are loved! 🙂

image

Of course here’s a snap with my ever supportive friends. Hi Ava and Mayie!

Inspired

image

There are certain times when I feel like school is taking its toll on me as if it’s a struggle to remain sane on these uneventful days. No matter how difficult things get though, I never forget to take a breather and be my carefree self.

image

Life is crazy and we need to have a little craziness in us to keep up. By crazy, I mean being able to do what one desires amidst constraints. In my case, I don’t let stress put a standstill to my own happiness. I’m a free spirit and this is one thing Havaianas inspired me to be.

image

image

Veering away away from killer heels and wearing flip-flops once in a while is for me, an instant way of taking a good break.

image

I’ve read from a fashion article that if you wanna be fabulous, you should never wear flip-flops and that seriously ticked me off. Fashion is always subjective and so whoever wrote that, I’ll prove you wrong. (Fierce! Haha.)

image

I incorporated the relaxed vibe in this black ensemble by wearing my Havaianas. I’ve been a fan of Havaianas ever since its dawn here in the Philippines. If there’s the classic Manolo Blahnik for shoes, then there’s a timeless Havaianas in the range of flip-flops. Its designs are varied from simple to quirky to customizable, not to mention the quality is praiseworthy! You can view a past post of us wearing Havaianas here .

image

image

image

image

How do you like my styling here? It’s actually my birthday today, your greetings won’t hurt. Haha. ☺

image

Be fabulous with flip-flops now with Havaianas and never forget to unwind and pamper yourself. Now opt for the flip-flops and lead a happy life one step at a time. ❤

A-Fash x F.A.R.M.

image

Just recently, the online shop of a social enterprise was launched in our school, Ateneo de Naga University. A group of young entrepreneurs, together with the existing project of Ms. Bernadette de los Santos, conceptualized the making of F.A.R.M. at Ateneo.

image

F.A.R.M. stands for “Fabulously & Absolutely Rural Made”, which describes the totality of the project. The shop uses discarded buttons and fabrics to create unique and innovative products such as tote bags, purse, wallets, key chains, cellphone charms, and bracelets.

image

The project started with its owner Ms. Bernadette de los Santos, also known as Ms. Bidibidi to many. Ms. Bidibidi is a well known Bikolano artist and a social advocate. It was conceptualized in the later part of 2008 after she was awarded as the Outstanding Rural Woman of the Department of Agriculture. Because of this, she was called to serve more especially the rural women of Baao, Camarines Sur – her hometown.

image

One of F.A.R.M.’s advocacy is green fashion. They help the environment by using recycled materials in making their fashion accessories. Other than that, the project also offers livelihood to rural women and scholarship to the youth of Baao. The project has helped many students and people of Baao and this story has reached the Ateneo de Naga community. F.A.R.M. at Ateneo was created to make F.A.R.M. products available online so that it can reach a bigger market.

image

head-to-toe thrifted

A-Fash  collaborated with the brand because we believe in its advocacy. Its products are not only fashionably trendy but are also crafted with utmost passion and compassion. Each of the items is made from the heart ❤

image

image

This feminine tote bag is from F.A,R.M.’s newest line – F.A,R.M. Threads. They are made of purely recycled fabric and are zipped, lined, and supported in genuine brown leather strap. Perfect for all the school girls out there!

The bracelet I’m wearing on my left is also one of F.A,R.M.’s products. It’s made of vintage buttons, cool right? (•‿•)

Grunge

image

So that’s me trying the “whip my hair” pose. Haha.

image

I apologize for the long list of backlogs. I have seven pending blog post on my drafts and this one’s one of them.

image

What I’m wearing: loose tank top, thrifted; plaid longsleeves, Von Dutch; skinny jeans, Folded and Hung

A-Fash had the theme grunge so I eventually looked for inspirations on Lookbook. This style is something you would usually see on Lookbook and Tumblr as well. It could have been more badass if I’m wearing high-waisted shorts, but unfortunately that won’t be possible because I have to follow our school’s dress code.

image

Jeans and a plaid long sleeves tied around the waist are the most recognizable elements of grunge fashion.

image

mirrored arrow-down necklace, Personalized Accessories

image

blue skull bracelet, CaLee Shoppe; colored skull bracelet; Clarissa’s Arm Candies; leather band, Tomato

I love this look because it’s so laid back and unkempt – the type where you don’t have to force yourself to act ladylike.

By the way, I’ll share to you something I’m happy about – our thesis paper was accepted and we got an ‘A’! September is such a good month for me! ☺

Enjoy the rest of the month guys! Show some love on the comment box below. ☺

Thanks Jamie for the photos!

This year, the Bicol Fashion Week Wave 2 will be coming with a bang! On their second year of holding such event, let’s expect a new level of showcasing the different Bicolano fashion talents that made it to national and international waves.

If you’re following me on Twitter, you might have had the clue that I recently went to a fun shoot with a good friend of mine – NJ. Out of the blue, she tweeted me that she wants to come here to Naga just to have a shoot and I was like: “Why not?”. Being a woman of her word, she traveled all the way from Albay the next day – A for effort!

image

I prepared three outfits for the shoot and this set is my favorite.

See what I did there? You could just imagine how much I brought out the carefree child in me again. It’s in times like this that I feel like I’m still in kindergarten not worrying about nerve-wracking school stuff and just choosing the right shades for a page in a coloring book instead of comprehending a zillion of complicated theories for my thesis.
