First blog post of the year! Yay! *fireworks* Haha. ☺ I’m starting the year right with what else? Dressing up.

image

image

For the first themed shoot of A-Fash, we decided to inject our New Year’s resolution to our outfits. Cool right? It really took me quite a while to think of how I can incorporate the two together and I ended up with symbolism (ang deep). (•‿•)

image

image

image

image

image

Do you now have an idea of what symbol I used? If you didn’t get it yet, it’s all on the skirt. Yeah, those are clocks which obviously symbolize time.

image

Not being dramatic and all but what I plan to do this year is to seize every second I have. I want to spend it meaningfully because no one can tell what could start, what could end and what could be given a second chance.

image

image

I’m cherishing every moment in college because in less than two months time, I’ll be done with my studies. Well, it’s great to finally graduate but it also scares me to face the new world.

image

image

I’m spending a lot of time now with my college friends and the person dearest to me because for sure we’ll part ways after graduation. That’s just sad but I know I can do this, so bring it on! Haha!

It’s the last day of 2013, and I intend to give you a perfectly fit year-ender post. Here’s the second set of photos from my shoot with NJ (if you missed the first one, checked it out here) which I really really love! The sun gave a dramatic mood to the photos; hence, the glow. (•‿•)

image

image

2013 was a good year for me and I certainly think 2014 will be much better. Optimism alwaya does wonders. ♥

image

What I’m wearing: dainty collared top, thrifted; high waisted shorts, Thrifting Treasures; wedges, Primadonna

My new year’s resolution? On top of my list is getting back into shape, just like in these photos. I’m starting to regret my impulsive and excessive eating these past few months. Haha! Diet plus working out will be my first ‘to-do’ activity this 2014 *fingers crossed*.

I won’t end the year without being grateful for all the people who have made my 2013 more meaningful. I don’t wanna sound cheesy but I take immense pleasure in thanking all of you esp our dearest readers! Cheers! ❤

image

2014, as the book Looking for Alaska puts it, could be “The Great Perhaps”. If you guys are wondering how my Tete Joyce is doing, she’s peachy keen and I’m spending the holidays with her here in Manila. Watch out for a solo blog post from her soon. She’ll surely make it comeback-worthy! Happy New Year everyone! ☺

Hope you like the photos! And by the way, you can follow me on Twitter and Instagram (@francesclaudine)!

Bad***

imageA-Fash has gone sporty! I’ve been itching to share with you this outfit. It’s my favorite one so far, so enjoy the rest of the photos guys! (•‿•)

image

image

image

Maybe some of you will think “This isn’t sporty.” Well, I decided not to stick with the usual sporty look wearing the typical rubber shoes or so; instead I gave it a twist by injecting formal pieces to the outfit. Fashion upgrade! ☺

My newest favorite item on my closet made its debut on our blog! This floral cap definitely adds the bad*** vibe on any outfit. You will definitely see more of this baby here because I have a feeling I’ll use it more often. Haha! Thank you Tete for this! ❤

Hope you like this outfit as much as I do! Comments are much as loved!

Hello December! Finally the happiest and most colorful month of the year has come and you certainly know what that means – Christmas is just around the corner! Yey!

image

Who wouldn’t love Christmas? The 3-year-old-me would be just as happy as everyone else.

image

There will be gatherings here and there, presents, and food! Of course everyone will be preparing sumptuous feasts so I’ll be ready for additional pounds. *Ghad.. I’m getting fat.* Haha! (•‿•)

image

image

Now lets talk about the outfit. There’s no better way to fight the cold breeze than wearing a pullover then match it with tights and boots. I tell you you’ll have a feeling you have a second skin. Haha! Perfect for the cuddle weather!

image

What I’m wearing: cross pullovers and booties, thrifted; tights, SM Department Store

image

I love the aztec-cross print on this pullovers. It gives the edgy vibe on the outfit. ☺

image

image

Its my first time to wear this kind of booties, did I pull it off well?

Fresh

image

I know I’ve been sharing with you my thesis journey here in our blog, and I want to share with you another achievement we’ve just made – we’re finally done with our data gathering process! We’re halfway in finishing our paper and I couldn’t be any happier for that! *applause please* Haha!(•‿•)

image

A-Fash had our first shoot for the second semester and I’m really looking forward to our Wednesday routine. By the way, I met up with a respondent before these photos were taken and notice I still managed to look fresh. Maybe because of the instant freshness my outfit brings and a little help from my make-up kit. Haha! As my Tete (Ate Joyce) would always say, “Uhuh! Freshness of Downy!” 😀

image

I’ve been asked so many times about my daily make-up ritual. Well, I tell you I spend a lot of time in front of the mirror before going out – 30 minutes tops. Not that I’m into artificial beauty but looking good and prepped is a way of how you’ll present yourself to the people you meet, and that makes an impression. Remember this: Cosmetics are made to enhance beauty not to conceal them.

image

image

What I’m wearing: top, Thrifting Treasures; floral pants, Aeropostale

image

image

image

neon green bracelet, Kikay’s Kitwooden beads bracelet, Rainbow Tropics; watch, Guess

image

image

Maybe I could do a separate blog post for my beauty essentials, what do you think guys? Comments are loved!☺

image

We’re just the ones who showed up for the shoot – the pioneer batch: Danica, Yen, Sam and me. After the shoot we went out for a date-slash-bonding-slash-meeting. It was nice to catch up with these ladies!

Have you ever been so in love? Well, I currently am. I’m in love with everything around me – my family, my friends, my school, and of course the person behind these pictures. And I’m very thankful for having such supportive people around me.

image

I may be discreet about it but if you know me personally, you’ll know what I’m taking about.

image

Being in love enables one to see things in another perspective. You become inspired in everything you do and it radiates to the people around you. ❤

image

Enough about that, let’s talk about the outfit. (•‿•)

image

I wore this outfit during our enrollment for the second semester last October 23. It’s my last enrollment for college plus it’s a special day so I really planned to dress up.

image

sporty top, Thrifting Treasures

image

I want to bring out the sporty vibe the top has so I paired it with my trusty sneaks.

image

I decided to give it a twist by choosing a skirt as a bottom, don’t worry I still feel comfortable because its material is made out of cotton.

image

What do you think? Did I pull it off just right? Comments are loved! 🙂

image

Of course here’s a snap with my ever supportive friends. Hi Ava and Mayie!

Stand Out

image

Time flies real fast. I’m on my last 6 months as a college student and that makes me excited yet nervous. As much as I’m excited to graduate, I’m also excited to share with you what I wore for my creative shoot for our yearbook. This year’s graduating batch agreed on the theme “Stand Out Black”, thus the title and the all black outfit.

image

Check out the whole outfit!

image

What I’m wearing: hat, thrifted; dress and belt, Mango; heels, Rusty Lopez

What I want to appear on my creative shot is an outfit that I can say reflects me and makes me stand out. What better way than keeping it classic and sophisticated. Me and Tete are both known in pulling classic outfits together, and I think this is the best ensemble that can describe who I am.

image

doll eyed contact lenses, Purple Mansion

I was made more beautiful by Kuya Van, my trusted make-up artist. He’s the one behind my dolled-up face on every shoot I have with Koreana (the online shop I model for). I tell you, he has magic hands. Haha. (•‿•)

image

image

image

I choose gold to be the color to stand out from my black dress. Black plus gold is such a classic pair. Thank you so much Ate Juvy, the owner of Sassy Pink iDesign by JuvyBee, for lending me the necklace and this statement bangle. ❤

image

image

The hat I’m wearing is such a lifesaver, it added a sophisticated touch to the whole outfit. Thank God for thrift shops! ☺

image

image

Meet my college friends. Everyone’s looking their best!

image

What can you say about my classic black and gold outfit? I hope my yearbook pictures will look good *fingers crossed*.

Don’t forget to hype my look!

Defying Gravity – ACP1 x Bjorn Manila x Ramon Bautista

image

Guess who’s back in Bicol? The one and only Bjorn Bedayo of bjornmanila.com was once again in Ateneo de Naga, last September 12, to share his knowledge and passion on photography. For those who are not familiar with this wonder guy, he’s the man behind the biggest street fashion project in the Philippines – KALSADA. He already visited our school for the said project and we are proud to say that we’ve become part of it, we even blogged about it here. ☺

image

Bjorn was one of the chosen speakers during our Alternative Class Program (ACP) which is offered every semester. Our ACP allows us to choose different topics to attend to instead of attending our regular classes. I always look forward for this because we get to meet awesome speakers.

This semester’s ACP took it to the next level – very interesting and star-studded. Just to give you an idea, Mr. Atom Aurallo, Ms. Ces Drillon, Mr. Erik Salud, Mr. Ramon Bautista are just some of the invited speakers.

image

As I have mentioned earlier Bjorn was the speaker for the photography topic entitled: “I Capture Life, I Defy Blurry Shots.” I was not originally registered to this topic yet I, together with my A-Fash family, entered the talk as special guests (haha).

image

Bjorn was also the man behind the photos of SM Youth‘s current project #CampusStyle #FashionRadar so he took the chance to document Ateneo de Naga’s fashion culture. Of course we prepared our best for this, so we power dressed! The photo above was the one featured on SM Youth together with other fashionable Ateneans, you can view the album here

image

After Bjorn’s talk, I attended the afternoon session of Mr. Ramon Bautista’s talk. I’m not a big fan of him before but his wit and appeal made me admire him in a heartbeat.

imagehead-to-toe thrifted

Because of too much excitement, I forgot to take my outfit details that day, so SM Youth’s photo’s the only thing I got. I opted to look weird because “The weirder, the better”. Haha. What do you think about my mixing and matching here? I think it’s hippie luxe! (•‿•)

image

What better way to end that day than a “Bjorn Manila Party”? Together with A-Fash, and some of my friends, we partied all night long with Bjorn.

image

We even bumped into RB who was at the same club! It was a funny and unforgettable experience. Imagine we’re on the same dance floor with THE Bjorn Manila and THE Ramon Bautista!!! Another item on my bucket list checked – ‘Go club’n with someone famous!’ (haha).

image

Thank you so much Bjorn for throwing the party! Thank you for being a friend, see you again soon! ❤

Designer’s Show – Bicol Fashion Week Wave 2

image

The recently concluded Bicol Fashion Week Wave 2, which I blogged about here, held it’s finale fashion show at SM City Naga Event Center last September 9. I was honored and humbled to take part in the said event having two roles – as a blogger and as a model.

imageAs the grand finale event, the organizers saved the best people for last. The show showcased the world-class creations of Ms. Zandra Lim-Imasa, Mr. Bj Chavez, Mr. Simon Ariel Vasquez and Mr. Chris Jasler. I was chosen to model Mr. Simon Ariel Vasquez and Mr. Chris Jasler’s creations.

imageI’m modeling for the past two years now, and I think I’m not sharing that with you a lot coz I feel like I need to be discreet about it. Haha. Maybe because I’m just too shy and still consider myself a newbie that still needs a lot to improve on. But nevertheless, this experience is another thing to be proud of because I wore the creations of two of the most known Bicolano designers in the country and even abroad. ☺

image

First off is Mr. Simon Ariel Vasquez. His designs are more of the classic and elegant ones. The collection he showcased that night includes his dresses with cut-out details and intricate designs – mostly in hues of black, white, and gray.

image

image

The one I’m wearing is his version of the classic little black dress.

image

Notice the detailed embellishments on the side of the dress, It’s simple but still fabulous.

image

The statement pearl accessories completes the whole look. Let me tell you something, my ears are really hurting there – imagine the weight of those earrings! It felt like I have dumbbells on my ears. Haha!

image

Next is Mr. Chris Jasler, the owner of the Singapore-based brand “Jail Jeans”. The creations of this international fashion designer have also reached New York City. During the show, Jail Jeans showcased its line for both men and women which gave denim an interesting twist.

image

I went out on the ramp wearing denim from top to bottom – a denim jacket with black denim longsleeves underneath it, and of course jeans.

image

I didn’t see myself wearing an all-out-denim outfit that looks this good! (•‿•)

image

Another thing I’m really proud of is that I pulled off walking on the runway with this seven inches heel-less monster. Another item on my bucketlist checked! ☺

image

image

Showcasing Bicolano talents like this one makes me feel proud that I’m a Bicolana. Keep supporting Bicolano fashion!

Inspired

image

There are certain times when I feel like school is taking its toll on me as if it’s a struggle to remain sane on these uneventful days. No matter how difficult things get though, I never forget to take a breather and be my carefree self.

image

Life is crazy and we need to have a little craziness in us to keep up. By crazy, I mean being able to do what one desires amidst constraints. In my case, I don’t let stress put a standstill to my own happiness. I’m a free spirit and this is one thing Havaianas inspired me to be.

image

image

Veering away away from killer heels and wearing flip-flops once in a while is for me, an instant way of taking a good break.

image

I’ve read from a fashion article that if you wanna be fabulous, you should never wear flip-flops and that seriously ticked me off. Fashion is always subjective and so whoever wrote that, I’ll prove you wrong. (Fierce! Haha.)

image

I incorporated the relaxed vibe in this black ensemble by wearing my Havaianas. I’ve been a fan of Havaianas ever since its dawn here in the Philippines. If there’s the classic Manolo Blahnik for shoes, then there’s a timeless Havaianas in the range of flip-flops. Its designs are varied from simple to quirky to customizable, not to mention the quality is praiseworthy! You can view a past post of us wearing Havaianas here .

image

image

image

image

How do you like my styling here? It’s actually my birthday today, your greetings won’t hurt. Haha. ☺

image

Be fabulous with flip-flops now with Havaianas and never forget to unwind and pamper yourself. Now opt for the flip-flops and lead a happy life one step at a time. ❤
