Color Splash

DSC 2103

‘Twas a rainy afternoon yet our vibrant smiles and colors managed to keep the woes awayColor blocking was our theme and yes, it was challenging and fun at the same time. Truth is, it took more than two hours for the younger sister Didi to finally be satisfied with an ensemble and mind you, that is no hyperbole.

Boticca Love

Being fashionable isn’t merely adhering to trends and emulating celebrities and fab people whom you often see on magazines and television. To be a fashion enthusiast, in a deeper sense, entails putting your heart to it and bearing in mind that your clothes need to reflect who you are – your mood, your personality, your dreams, and even your frustrations. What you wear could be totally boring if it does not express who you are. And when you wear what you love and vice versa, it evidently shows on how you carry it. Moreover, fashion isn’t confined to clothing alone. As the modern fashion world elevates its many trends, accessories are a must on the fashionista’s list, too. It can jazz up an entire outfit instantly and you’d be surprised with the transformation. With the right mixing and matching, accessories could take you a long way.

Recently, we’ve been eyeing on different online sites where inspirations could manifest and sink in to our creative DIY skills. Eventually, we came across Boticca, a site featuring accessories by budding designers around the world whose masterpieces are no doubt exceptional. We instantly fell in love with the items and ended up daydreaming about the impossibility that we could purchase every single piece on the aforementioned site.

Here are some of our picks from respective designers:

                    Anni Jurgenson

We’ve been wanting to have ear cuffs like in forever and we literally wowed about all these. We could imagine ourselves wearing the pink and yellow feathered ear cuffs together – Didi wearing the pink cuff and the yellow one for Joyce. To see more of Anni’s fierce pieces, click HERE.

P.S. Please don’t ever forget to visit Boticca to view pieces by independent designers including gorgeous clutch bags and unique earrings

Elpee, a friend who is also a noteworthy blogger and photography enthusiast, totally made our day by posting a status update on Facebook dedicated to the many haters at school who try to “bully” fashionable people. Talk about primitive minds. You could read his clever post on the latter part of this entry. We are posting this set ‘coz it displays happiness and liberty – the exact sentiments we have right now evoked by the post of that amazing guy.

On Didi: kimono cover up, thrifted; sheer zebra print top, thrifted; orange skorts, thrifted

ring, gift from Ate Nagj (Follow her here on Tumblr, too. Her creative juices are overflowing.)

“Let’s be clear about a couple of things. You wear a shirt or a blouse with jeans and whatever shoes you pair it with because you are comfortable with it. Some ladies I know wear sheer tops with mullet skirts or tank tops with floral printed pants or chiffon blouses with high waisted skorts with wedges and heels not under four inches because those are what they are comfortable wearing and because they have the guts and the confidence to wear them. Don’t treat them differently, give them rude stares or talk about how “overdressed” they are behind their backs just because they don’t wear what you would normally wear on a perfectly normal day. That’s insecurity.” – Elpee Abias

The Woman, The Little Girl

MG 0065

Just last night, our über adorable friend NJ informed us that she’s in Naga City, which is a rare thing ‘coz she resides in Albay. We asked her if she could photograph us for an outfit post and as expected, she didn’t turn us down. She even brought her guy Kim Jay with us and together they clicked away.

For the Love of Summer

Our outfits are inspired by our favorite fashion blogger,

Doina Ciobanu. She has this innate elegance and beauty and at a very young age, she has achieved so much. Plus, her branded clothings and stuff are beyond amazing. By the time that we get filthy rich, we could be like her yet one thing’s for sure, we will never abandon thrift shopping! *laughs

The splash of colors is so palatable that we instantly fell in love with the photos upon seeing them. Thanks to our ever talented and sweet friend, Fadi Ghaleeb. We’re sure as hell he’ll be more successful than that Nigel Barker guy someday. 🙂

So here are the solo shots and outfit details:

On Didi: hat, thifted; bikini top, Folded and Hung; slim belt, thrifted; maxi skirt, thrifted; heels, thrifted

Didi: “I love this nautical look. I love the Philippine flag colors! :D”

Didi: “We’re too lucky we have Kuya Fadi as our photographer; this is a breathtaking shot!”

wooden bracelet from grandma, ring from Divisoria

Revelation: We bought this lovely hat at a thrift shop in Ligao City for only Php 35! Yes, we’re dead serious. 🙂

On Joyce: hat, grandma’s; bikini top, Penshoppe (Didi’s); maxi pants, thrifted; belt, gift; jelly wedges, Landmark

Joyce: “Did I manage to do the booty tooch right? Haha!”

Booty tooch is a term coined by Tyra Banks. For more knowledge about it, read here.
