Defying Gravity – ACP1 x Bjorn Manila x Ramon Bautista

image

Guess who’s back in Bicol? The one and only Bjorn Bedayo of bjornmanila.com was once again in Ateneo de Naga, last September 12, to share his knowledge and passion on photography. For those who are not familiar with this wonder guy, he’s the man behind the biggest street fashion project in the Philippines – KALSADA. He already visited our school for the said project and we are proud to say that we’ve become part of it, we even blogged about it here. ☺

image

Bjorn was one of the chosen speakers during our Alternative Class Program (ACP) which is offered every semester. Our ACP allows us to choose different topics to attend to instead of attending our regular classes. I always look forward for this because we get to meet awesome speakers.

This semester’s ACP took it to the next level – very interesting and star-studded. Just to give you an idea, Mr. Atom Aurallo, Ms. Ces Drillon, Mr. Erik Salud, Mr. Ramon Bautista are just some of the invited speakers.

image

As I have mentioned earlier Bjorn was the speaker for the photography topic entitled: “I Capture Life, I Defy Blurry Shots.” I was not originally registered to this topic yet I, together with my A-Fash family, entered the talk as special guests (haha).

image

Bjorn was also the man behind the photos of SM Youth‘s current project #CampusStyle #FashionRadar so he took the chance to document Ateneo de Naga’s fashion culture. Of course we prepared our best for this, so we power dressed! The photo above was the one featured on SM Youth together with other fashionable Ateneans, you can view the album here

image

After Bjorn’s talk, I attended the afternoon session of Mr. Ramon Bautista’s talk. I’m not a big fan of him before but his wit and appeal made me admire him in a heartbeat.

imagehead-to-toe thrifted

Because of too much excitement, I forgot to take my outfit details that day, so SM Youth’s photo’s the only thing I got. I opted to look weird because “The weirder, the better”. Haha. What do you think about my mixing and matching here? I think it’s hippie luxe! (•‿•)

image

What better way to end that day than a “Bjorn Manila Party”? Together with A-Fash, and some of my friends, we partied all night long with Bjorn.

image

We even bumped into RB who was at the same club! It was a funny and unforgettable experience. Imagine we’re on the same dance floor with THE Bjorn Manila and THE Ramon Bautista!!! Another item on my bucket list checked – ‘Go club’n with someone famous!’ (haha).

image

Thank you so much Bjorn for throwing the party! Thank you for being a friend, see you again soon! ❤

Bloggers Runway

image

This is the event I’m excited to share with you guys! I even personally invited you all on a previous post, but since not all of you can easily go to Bicol and witness our biggest exposure  – I definitely want to share this success with you through a blog post. More convenient than riding a plane. Haha!

image

A-Fash and Bicol Fashion Bloggers is very honored to partner with SM City Naga for an event showcasing the latest gadgets from SmartStarmobileSamsung and ComWorks. The “Blogger’s Runway” was held last August 25 at the mall’s event center.

STATISTICS

Of course all of us were excited and thrilled for the event. This is a big break, not just for A-Fash, but also for all the Bicolano Fashion Bloggers out there. Bicolano fashion takes on the stage!

image

Personally, I was very proud to be part of the said event because I’m on the runway, not just as a model but also as a blogger. This is really a level-up!

The first gadget I modelled was Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD from ComWorks. I was really amazed with it’s sleek design. The screen is wide plus the graphics are also good because it has HD display. It is also very handy because of it’s size and light weight. It’s Wifi ready plus it also has a 8 MP camera which can be really handy in updating social networking sites! Since it’s quad-core, it’s processing is extra fast so you can open several applications at once – talk about multi-tasking! (•‿•)

ComWorks is one of the leading information communications technology company. They provide products such as Starmobile, Samsung, Nokia, Alcatel, My Phone and others. If you’re located near Naga, and you want authentic brands for a cheaper prize just visit their store at SM City Naga, 2nd floor Cyberzone Area.

The second one is Smart‘s Nokia Lumia 710. What I love about Smart‘s Nokia Lumia 710 is that it’s designed for instant social experience and photo sharing. It’s Wifi ready so I can easily update and check my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even my blog. The camera also has a flash so it’s perfect for taking pictures at night. It also comes in different colors which is very cute and appealing.

STATISTICS

You can visit ComWorks and Smart branches on various SM Supermalls nationwide!

Now for my outfit, I choose a “runway-worthy” dress and of course high heels. Since our theme for the show was blue and pink, I decided to finally use this beautiful dress since it also has a touch of blue in it. My Rusty Lopez high heels are forever my runway babies because I can easily walk with them without worrying if I’ll stumble on the runway. Haha.

Kalsada

image

To fashion and photography enthusiasts out there, it is very likely that you know the one and only Bjorn Bedayo of bjornmanila.com. We’ve been his avid fans for a longtime now and it was such an honor to take part in his KALSADA  project.

image

Here are a couple of photos during his visit to Ateneo de Naga last July 3. Joyce was still in Bicol that time but now she’s already working in Taguig City which explains why the recent posts here are Didi’s solos.

image

We decided to wear matching outfits as usual by wearing flowy bottoms like the palazzo pants and the maxi skirt. Street style isn’t confined to anything hiphop-ish which is often the misconception. If you’re wondering how the other Naga City folks showcased their own style, check out THIS album on Facebook.

Shapes

image

Admit it, we all have this particular phase in our dramatic teenage life that we deal with body issues; we tend to be overpowered by our insecurities. A-Fash‘s theme this week was “shapes”. We didn’t merely take the motif literally but in a deeper sense, ‘twas a washday-Wednesday of embracing our varied body types. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. ☺

image

Notice our flabby arms? They’re meant to give warm hugs and we’re proud of it!

On Didi: head-to-toe thrifted

Didi: “Since I do not have any clothing with geometrical prints on it, I decided to wear these necklaces to showcase shapes.”

Sweet Stripes

stripes1

A-Fash‘s theme this week was obviously, stripes. This was one of the easiest motifs yet we were quite disappointed that the majority weren’t present during the shoot. School’s getting really tough that’s why. We decided to wear an easy and breezy look coz we got a couple of errands to do that day.

Classic

DSC 8955

If you are a regular reader of our blog, you’d probably be aware of our being fond of vintage or classy pieces. Last Wednesday, A-Fash decided to have “classic” as a theme and hell yeah, we were so delighted.

DSC 8958

The theme was also timely since it was the first day of the Ateneo de Naga Job Fair for Seniors. The elder sister, Joyce, eagerly participated mainly because of the dressing up, haha! Looking good and feeling good about yourself always does wonders. ◕ ‿ ◕
